Week #3

I had a pretty good week and continue to try and understand the procedures here. I still make way too many mistakes. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm asking this 75 year old brain and deaf ears to do too much. Maybe it is time to retire to a simple kind of mission if there is such. I least I didn't lose the keys this week. Mom talked about our visit to Haun's Mill and Far West. I rather enjoyed the ride as there was little traffic and the Moses' made good riding companions. The whole trip only took about six hours and we were in no hurry. The roads were on rolling hills and you just hoped everyone stayed in their lane as you couldn't see approaching cars. I had always thought of Missouri as being flat but it is anything but. Just not any mountains. Shoal Creek runs along beside Haun's Mill and anytime there is any significant rainfall the whole place is flooded. The state built a new bridge into the site in hopes that the flooding will be alleviated. It'

It was a busy week in the office and it was nice to have it broken up with Zone Conference on Friday. We have been going into the office early, usually getting there before 8:00. For some reason I am waking up about 5:30 and lay in bed until 5:45 before deciding I might as well hit the shower. This doesn't make sense as that makes it 4:30 Utah time. She was a great help as she sat by my side and let me do things. Sister Welbern knows so much but doesn't have the time to sit by my side. Sister Gillispie will be coming again on Tuesday so I am making a list of things I need help on. The only problem is that I don't know what I don't know, if that makes sense.  We went shopping a couple of times this week and keep getting s

MTC Oct. 2022  After a couple of years home from our abbreviated(due to Covid) mission to Fiji, Colleen and I got busy submitting our papers for another mission. We were not thrilled about going out while Covid was raging and having to wear masks, be isolated, etc. so waited until Covid restrictions had abated before we got serious about going out again. Also, a bout with surgery had me laid up for a while. We got the doctor's clearance to submit our papers in July 2022 and received our call the first part of September. We had listed our "Top Ten" choices as requested in our application and Missouri was not on the list. But when we opened our call the assignment seemed right to me. Our report date was Oct. 24 so we had a couple of months to get prepared. We were not particularly excited about spending another couple of weeks in the MTC but ended up enjoying the experience; most probably due to a better attitude this time around. 😁 The first week was learning Preach My Go
